Upsetting All Those "Beautiful Minds"
Via the deeply admirable Jim Bovard (author of Terrorism and Tyranny: Trampling Freedom, Justice and Peace to Rid the World of Evil, The Bush Betrayal, and Attention Deficit Democracy, three books you all should read), I learn that Our Ultimate Leader, in reply to a question from Jim Lehrer as to why Bush doesn't ask more Americans "to sacrifice something" in the futile and immoral Iraq catastrophe, averred:
All those "beautiful minds," needlessly troubled and upset about utterly unnecessary blood and carnage.
Yet I take heart from Our Ultimate Leader's observation. Every single one of you is in this fight, too! Aren't you proud of yourselves? I think you're all wonderful.
The inanity of what we laughingly refer to as our national discussion has exceeded all measurable limits. As Bovard notes:

I have been amazed at the last few interviews Bush has given. His doggerel seems to be surpassing all previous bounds, and yet… many Americans continue to believe, and most of the Washington media continues to grovel. This concludes your daily bulletin from the Land of Stupid.
